I think I'm finally getting Far Cry 4 to hum...

My PC has a core i7 3.6, and I have played the game with three different Nvidia graphics cards. The OEM GTX 745, the EVGA 750ti SC, and the EVGA 970 SSC.

I find the game to be "worse than console quality" with the stock GTX 745, and that is disappointing. I had to run the game on (literally) the lowest settings to even hit 30fps. It was ugly and ran poorly.

Next up was the 750ti. The game was more than "playable", and I could maintain a solid 60fps while running "ultra" on the textures and a mix of low, high, and medium on other settings. The game wasn't mind blowing on the 750ti, but it looked and played significantly better than it does on current gen consoles. (it should be noted that I had to run the game in 900 resolution vs 1080 to keep a solid 60fps)

Now I am trying the 970. To be honest, keeping a reliable 60fps with this card requires balance. Yes, it "can" run the game at roughly 60fps with the "ultra" preset, but it has proven (for me) to be unreliable.

I can play the game in 1080p and get what I consider to be good quality graphics and maintain the 60fps, but I had to turn some things down. I've played with it a lot, and this is the "prettiest" result I've gotten while also maintaining a good frame rate.
