Guaranteed Pickoffs in Baseball Stars (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Baseball Stars by SNK (the NES version) there's a way to get guaranteed outs against a CPU opponent if they have a runner on first base. Obviously this won't work against a human opponent unless they are easily fooled!
All you need to do is perform a pickoff attempt and throw to second base. Then your second baseman catches the ball, run toward home plate for a step or two, then throw back to the unattended second base. The ball will bounce into center field, but your outfielder will be there to grab the baseball. At this point, the computer-controlled runner from first base will begin to run for second base. Now, simply have your outfielder throw the ball back to second base, and at this point, your second baseman will be covering the base. The computer opponent will continue to run toward second base as your second baseman holds the ball on second base, and you will tag the runner out.
This method makes for some really easy wins against the CPU teams. It's basically free outs when you're pitching.
