In Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for the NES, it's possible to take a shortcut in a certain room of the last dungeon. If you can manipulate the flying gargoyle heads to approach you from a certain height, it's possible to bounce on top of one using the JUMP spell and land on the ceiling to the right of this room. Then you can walk to the right, and immediately pivot back into the same room, but you'll be situated at the bottom section of the room.

This will allow you to proceed to the final boss.
