After the saloon shootout, Jesse proceeds to track Cole Younger down, finding him in the ruins on the town's outskirts where Jack Carson's men are preparing to hang him from a tree branch. In order to save him, Jesse shoots the rope holding Cole suspended, allowing him to escape as he engages in an shootout with Carson's men within the ruins. Eventually, Jesse finds Cole wounded and slumped against one of the ruins, quickly discovering that he has been attacked by a sharpshooter named Grizwald who announces his intention to kill Jesse. After a brief shootout, Jesse kills Grizwald before coming to Cole's aid. However, Cole reveals that his injury is fatal and uses the last of his strength to point Jesse towards nearby abandoned mine...
