LA Noire Walkthrough Part 7: A Marriage Made In Heaven
0Cole and Stefan are put on a new case; A hit-and-run that has occurred in front of a bar in North Los Angeles with the victim, a man named Lester Pattison having died on impact. A sweep of the bar and its immediate surroundings reveals that Lester was a bar regular alongside his wife Lorna and that they were acquintances of the bar owner named Leroy Sabo, having had a frequent arguments within the establishment due to Lester's gambling addiction. Cole also finds a bloodied kitchen knife in a trash can behind the bar, making it possible that he was stabbed before being run down and a document confirming that he had a life insurance. Using a partial number of the licence plate on a car that killed Pattison, Cole tracks it down to an nearby house, taking Stefan along as they prepare to arrest the driver. Next morning, they see him packing his things into the car and are forced to engage him in a car chase after a brief confrontation. Upon stopping him, they learn that the man ran since he was already involved in the accidents and that man and woman were near Pattison when he was run down and that he believed that they will help him before he dies. Afterwards, Cole and Stefan head to Pattison residence in order to notify Lorna Pattison of her husband's death, also finding Leroy Sabo there. During the questioning, both Lorna and Leroy show surprisingly little concern for Pattison. As they leave the house, two detectives are called to the nearby morgue where a police coroner tells them that Pattison was dead before he was hit, having actually been killed by two stab wounds in his torso. Realizing that Lorna killed Pattison and believing that they can pass Leroy off as a witness, Cole and Stefan race back to the house where they confront Lorna who immediately tries to shift the blame onto Leroy. However, Leroy turns up soon, confronting the group on gunpoint and claiming that Lorna planned the murder out to make it look like an accident so that she could claim Pattison's insurance money, announcing that he does not intend to die for her before shooting her in the head, killing her. Afterwards, he tries to make a run for it with Cole chasing him until Leroy takes a hostage, forcing Cole to shoot him dead after a brief standoff...
Meanwhile, Courtney Sheldon visits Harlan Fontaine in order to discuss his internship in his clinic, noting the bad physical state of most of its patients as they suffer from drug addictions with Fontaine passing it off as a by-product of their treatment since they need to be kept sedated until they can be cured...
