Gurkha's Got Talent - The Army's Newest Gurkhas See In The New Year In Style
They may be fearsome fighters but the Gurkhas proved they've also got some moves this weekend as training riflemen from Gurkha Company in Catterick showed off their snake hips on stage in a huge celebration to see in the new year of 2073.
Soon to be the British Army's newest Gurkhas, the normally shy recruits wowed the distinguished guests, including the Brigade Commander Brigadier Strickland, in a thrilling compilation of both old and new numbers.
Nepal uses a lunar calendar which is 56.7 years ahead of the solar Gregorian Calendar used in the UK. Unlike the Gregorian version, a month in the Bikram Sambat Nepali calendar can have up to 32 days. It is widely used in India and the official calendar of Nepal and Bangladesh.
