Handheld Fighting Games of 89/94 - Fighting Simulator 2 in 1 Flying Warriors
Fighting Simulator: 2-in-1 Flying Warriors, also known as Hiryū no Ken Gaiden, is a martial arts action game released for the Game Boy on December 22, 1990. Developed and published by Culture Brain Inc., the game combines platforming and fighting mechanics into two distinct gameplay modes. The narrative centre's around the legend of the Mountain of the Dragon, where seven fighters, each with their own unique fighting styles, compete to obtain a powerful treasure medallion. Players take on the role of Rick, the protagonist, as he embarks on a journey to reclaim the medallion before it falls into the hands of the Dark Dragons.
The game offers a story-driven mode and a tournament mode, providing a varied gameplay experience. In the story mode, players navigate platforming levels across four stages, battling enemies and uncovering the medallion's secrets. The tournament mode allows one or two players to face off in a series of one-on-one battles against the other six fighters, with the option to fight one or three matches per opponent.
