The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa has emphasised the need for Nigerians to display high level of patriotism for peace and development.

General Musa who stated this while addressing the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) on a one-day seminar in Abuja, said as partners, they must work together to take ownership of Nigeria to ensure it develops.

He urged Nigerians to remain loyal to constitutional authority and display a high level of patriotism at all times.

The CDS acknowledged the plethora of multidimensional security situations in the country including insurgencies, terrorism, among others and reiterated the need to employ a whole of society approach and adopt Non-kinetic means to solve them.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre NARC, Major General Wahab Garba (rtd) urged the media to avoid reporting stories that are detrimental to national interest and national security.


The theme for the one day seminar is: Civil Military Relations: Non - kinetic Efforts of the Nigerian Military in Security Management, Challenges and Prospects.
