0:00 Title and Settings
This game's hard mode makes it so that your die can only go up to 3. I don't recommend doing this mode unless you have advance knowledge of all the maps and boss AI, since it takes more resources to overcome checks on hard mode.
0:52 Stratum 0
This is the tutorial stratum, where you have to grab a gun, save Sally, and fight some mobs. Though you may need to reroll a lot, especially on hard. I personally recommend not using the matchbox for the barricades in the bathroom yet though, since there's a more important place to use them.
All stats are important, since each point adds another dice to the corresponding checks.
At the bottom, you have to roll a check against Gla'aki's evil eye, but you're guaranteed to fail even on normal mode. Marty is injured and Sally is kidnapped by Gla'aki and the Grandmistress of the cult.
Brucie and Jade show up, and the latter gives the former her share of the fee to treat Marty, but only because she wants to bet on Marty failing anyways. The two won't help Marty directly, but Jade will leave some hints just to make things fun.
20:25 Stratum 1
You can buy stuff from Brucie, but your funds are limited. I recommend buying the medkit when you're wounded, since it'll heal you to full and increase your max HP/LP.
Some enemies are incredibly strong when fought close up, but weaker when ambushed from behind.
26:45 Boss: Miasma Giant
On hard mode, it's better to do will checks than dex checks.
28:54 Stratum 2
You find Sally's Compact, which allows you to spend 3 LP to boost a dice roll value by 3.
This new stratum introduces spider webs, which are really irritating because they can damage you if you fail the check, but they also can't be removed like enemies and barricades. That means if I need to backtrack, I have to savescum before crossing the webs.
At some point, you'll run into Lucy, whose friend Sapphire got killed by the cult. She wants to hire Brucie to kill the Grandmistress and is willing to sell her organs or prostitute herself to do it. Fortunately, Brucie instead gets her to agree to use her powers to help with future cases.
Vampire enemies are basically stronger miasma zombies. Evil spirits deal LP damage, but you don't die even at 0 LP, so if you run out, just eliminate all the spirits.
You need two matchboxes to get to a willpower item.
46:32 Boss: Deadly Curser
Note that you can now eat jellies without skipping dice rolls. This is important to outlast the enemy.
49:30 Stratum 3
Gla'aki defeats Marty again and the Grandmistress breaks Sally's Compact, leaving Marty discouraged now that he lost Sally's luck. Brucie tells Marty that it's not worth worrying about heroic origin stories and to just do what he thinks is right. Also, Sally's clovers turn into a 3 LP and 8 LP item.
This stratum is really nasty, since the green webs are hard to get through even with max dex. There are also cultists who can curse you and temporarily remove your dice. If there are two of them in a room, they can curse almost every dice roll.
1:07:16 A New Sacrifice
Marty and Brucie clear out the zombies and save Sally, but the Grandmistress offers herself as a vessel to Gla'aki, who proceeds to KO Brucie. At least you can take the rest of his healing items now.
You have to clear out all the normal enemies before fighting Gla'aki, but they cannot be ambushed. Sally can full heal you once.
1:11:52 Boss: Gla'aki
When you attack Gla'aki, she'll summon more minions, and every 3 minions takes away a dice. She will summon more minions at certain thresholds, and I was one hit away from losing despite using up all my items. Maybe I should have attacked the curser instead of the giant.
1:18:13 Surprisingly Happy Ending
You get the Goddess's Extract and escape with everyone, but the stinger indicates Hans will be an antagonist in Case 03: True Cannibal Boy.
