Heavy Barrel (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
125A playthrough of Data East's 1990 NES game, Heavy Barrel.
This was an awesome example of how to port an arcade game to the NES. It does a pretty excellent job of adapting the the rotary joystick control to the D-pad (meaning, it implements it exactly in the way that Ikari Warriors doesn't), the music will never leave your head once you hear it (even if there are only a couple of themes, they're both that good), and the graphics are pretty good - even if it flickers a lot, it rarely slows down, which was quite an achievement. The difficulty level is also pitch-perfect. It's hard enough to be challenging without making you want to chuck a controller at the wall. I highly recommend it!
