G-Loc Air Battle (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Sega's 1993 arcade shoot 'em up for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive, G-Loc Air Battle: Loss of Consciousness by G Force.
Played through on the medium difficulty level.
This was such a cool game when it was new, and it's still quite a bit of fun to play. It stays fairly true to its arcade roots, with some really nice sprite scaling, smooth pseudo-3D background scrolling, and kick-ass FM soundtrack.Just watch out the incredibly difficulty spike that comes with the last stage - the time limit goes from generous to nearly-impossible in the span of about 3 seconds. It's not impossible, but I certainly couldn't do it without having to cash in a couple of continues near the end. Ouch.
All in all, it was a great game. One has to wonder, though, wtf they were thinking by including a Top Gun style landing sequence - it's just as touchy as the one in the NES game. If your timing isn't perfect, you'll explode all over the side of the aircraft carrier. Oh boy.
