The first roadblock. Two maps in, and I already sit on the brink of giving up, wishing to the stars that there's a BFG somewhere. Ended up relying a lot on the fact that there's a summoning talisman within the first few minutes. Succeeded after nearing an hour playing as escort instead of the protector. Run of map split in two as a result.

First section by the dockhouse gets flooded by enemies fast if I hesitate too long, HDest enemies have patrol which usually means that they'll teleport much more earlier than expected due to them patrolling straight to the teleporter line in the little box that they're originally placed in. This extends all the way through to the oceanside areas and the canyon itself, so you'd better be quick on the draw unless you want to be overwhelmed.

The Oceanside itself is an interesting den of long range shenanigans and various ambushes. Lots of bits where you think you're safe, only for the author to throw in a floor trap and absolutely demolish you in seconds 'cause you weren't expecting to be greeted by eleventy squillion monsters above the elevator or right after the caves. Lots of alternative ways to go around the place, so atleast it's not as terrible than if I were to waltz through the main road.

The biggest problem I face right now is the simple fact that the "Unfortunate Rules of Foliage Props in Old Games" becomes a reoccurring issue as I conduct my operations with HDest in Lost Civ. Enemies have zero problems spotting me from kilometers away behind trees and bushes, meanwhile here's me twiddling my thumbs trying to figure out where is coming from what before they snipe me off (if I'm lucky enough to not get headshotted the moment I pop out from cover). Combine this visibility problem and HDest's boosted dangerousness when it comes to their gun-toting hostiles, and you could easily have yourself some unforgettable memories with running a section, only to be gunned down by a demon-speaking tree or bush or other such foliage shootthroughable decorations from far away. Over and over. For goodness sake, this map alone took me a lot of tries! And it's not even the midway point!

Ah, forgive me. That was a bit of a rant there. On with the run itself, shall we?
