Weirdly sudden ending. But what a journey it was. A tad frustrating at times but a lot to discover and experiment. A good game in the end. The ending sequence where you're finally told, just let loose, and given a ton of ships. Just go ham. A good ending sequence. Though the mysterious ending was sudden. Does fit with the faith route nicely though.

If I find a decent set of optimized ship designs, then I might try a couple of runs on hard on stream. Otherwise, might just enjoy it on my own. Still not sure how to use missiles and airplanes cost effectively. But hey, I had 400k at certain point in the game, so got to let loose a little. Though to be honest, the fighting did start getting a little repetitive. There was just so much of it. I guess a more reserved approach would be more appropriate in a higher difficulty. Though destroying all the Strike groups, still seems like a good decision all together.

So for the bad/expected? Mechanically this is a difficult game. The building has been nerfed to such a degree, that I couldn't build better than vanilla ships. Meaning 1 v 3 we use equal ships. AI shoots accurately, luckily AI is quite dumb, but they also spam missiles. I can't do that because zenith costs 600 a pop. No city gives any money. I got a lot because I unlocked that large ship(400k at one point), got 100k from some single trade ship fight(while most give 10-20k) for some reason and sometimes I felt like I just got money(maybe easy difficulty thing?). Fuel costs so much, repairs cost so much(and time, because you've got to keep moving, unless you've defeated all the strike groups), putting on airplanes and missiles cost as much as buying them. All this means, that every fight you have with the enemy has to be mechanically perfect. The places you go have to be scouted out and planned, otherwise you risk running into enemies you can't beat, meaning you put more ships on a single city, meaning more expenses. And the combat system isn't the most consistent. Sometimes you spawn and the enemy already let loose missiles, sometimes you spawn being surrounded by enemies. You have a combat timer, even though sometimes you've got to take down like 8-10 enemies. And if you scout it before hand, you get the red flag meaning a strike group is on their way. Then you use airplanes and missiles, but oh no, you're literally shooting up money. Then you get specialty ammo, but their effectiveness is questionable(proxy is good for defense, AP might be good, still on the fence), sometimes you can pin point shoot the cabin, sometimes you just cut the enemy's ship in half before it's down. There's just so many bad decisions to be made, because of a small mistake or happenstance itself, that completely destroys your run. Even with the current knowledge I have, I think it would take me a lot of luck and maybe like 100h of consistent trying to maybe have a chance on beating hard with vanilla ships. And yet again making more optimized cost efficient ships has been nerfed to oblivion. Even with easy difficulty, if I hadn't save summed, I would've had to play this over and over again, because mechanically it's difficult and there's nothing I can do to change that. Using all the sensors takes time and fuel and money, that I might not have. And again losing ships is game ending. To alleviate it, there might have been more events at cities that give you something, or giving more perks to getting experienced fighters(20% reload is the best you get, and even that is barely noticeable), or gaining assignable perks to fighters, or making attaching ships and missiles cheaper or who knows how else. It's a difficult game that will waste your time, because often times you're just not lucky.

The main point of this mechanical whining is: you can always make the game more difficult with self assigned challenges(like how I did with Sekiro, and Elden ring in some fashion), you can't make the game easier then as it was designed.

On a flip note: 69k extra credit next run, nice(though seems little for clearing almost the whole map, like 1 extra gladiator and some left over)

Edit: yeah like I thought the only way to get decent up to date ship designs is to go to their discord, and that's too much scrolling and inspection for me. Everywhere else has outdated designs. So I'll probably instead just enjoy this on my own. Might try giving, building tactical ships, another try some day.
Edit2: I was wrong on the fact that rearming missiles and airplanes cost money. Actually tested it and the repair cost is purely for info's sake I guess.. bug or bad design? who knows

Edit3: Okay I really tried, like REALLY tried to build good ships. Just can't, I'm not smart enough. Usually it's either 400 km/h and it gets annihilated by a single shot, or 250 km/h can take 3-4 shots and then bye bye. Just minimally better then the stock ones, that there's no real good advantage. And the flag ship still taking more then 50% of the budget. There's no winning move.
