Hole In One (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - by LemonAmiga.com
Golf games are often quite slow, but this one is fun! Hole in One was produced by DigiTek as a stand-alone data disk to their popular title Amy Putt Classics. DigiTek were based in Tampa, Florida, so they have lots of sunshine, and perhaps lots of crazy golf.

I discovered this game for the first time last year (2016) while going through some games on WHDLoad.com. The images on Lemon are pretty boring, but actually playing the game felt fun, especially when I played it in hard mode with two players. But the game really seemed to come alive when I went through the fantasy cources and Out of This World, so I had to go back and record those for a playguide. Many people would never have found this game or heard of it before, I know I never heard of it back in the day.
I narrated this deliberately like ASMR, or a bit like some of my early playguides; soft and almost whispering; although I still found myself walking too fast. This was supposed to be because crazy golf is often played on a lazy sunday, but was also inspired by the Dad in the chair watching sport, and not wanting to disturb him. Lastly, I guess some real golf commentators like to deliver with a soothing slow voice too.
I like to make the long shows more interesting after 20mins, to keep the viewer entertained. But the section with the Mexican jumping beams was supposed to be different. I originally sang Rock and Roll Music by Chuck Berry in that section, but listening back the next day it sounded bad, so I took that out and replaced it with another try, with what I thought was better singing. But listening back the next day it sounded bad, so I took that out and replaced it with the Nick Faldo's themes and also Do You Wanna Play Golf from Sensible Golf. But listening back the next day it sounded bad, so I took that out and replaced it with a full backing soundtrack, made from different music mods I found by Dreamer. These sounded very authentic to real music, so I found enough music to cover the first fantasy course, and then doubled those tracks up for the second fantasy course. It was still a lot of work recording and working out the right volume levels. I moved the game themed up in the video, so they cover the other interesting courses, with captions to show they are not part of the game. I had planned to make the jumping beans say something, but in the end I couldnt think of something funny to say.
On Friday I finished off the volume on the whispering narration, and added the end credits. I guess I missed a few things but I was only just in time to render and upload it ready for release. But then I realised Id uploaded it to the wrong Youtube account, so had to remove and upload again. But then realised it still said Ninja Mission in the intro credits, so had to take it down, fix, and now finally we have the review late on Saturday night/Sunday Morning. Its a long review so I dont expect meny views, but it was enjoyable to make this and spend all that time with the soundtrack.
If you think the weather in the UK is rather mild at the moment, we have been assured that another heat wave is due - July and August! So get outside and play some crazzzy golf.:) (yes, I was going to say Hey Hey Hey, its Crazzy Golf in the narration, but forgot, this is all ad-libbed of course)
