Our fusing had a delivery problem. Apparently it was being delivered from Pluto and never made it. That's okay, we don't need no stinkin proper fuse. We'll MacGyver up some.

The fuse is made of natural twine saturated in a sugar/potassium nitrate solution and then dried. It works, as long as it is not constricted. If it has to go through a half inch of 3-4mm wide rocket nozzle, it's sure to go out without help.

So what I did was build a simulated rocket body. The last layer of the fuel, closest to the fuse, was of packed pink mix (sugar+KNO3+Fe₂O₃.) After that, I put in some loose pink mix, put the fuse in, and put in a second small bit of fuse powdered with pink mix as wadding to hold the loose pink mix in until lit. This was a success and the fuel completely combusted.

Now I would still like to get my Visco green fuse delivered at some point, but this means we can proceed with our experiments without waiting.
