Today we are going to launch rockets, or try to. Not in KSP, but in real life! Sugar rockets are homemade rockets that are built using paper, bentonite clay (finely ground kitty litter,) powdered sugar and potassium nitrate (stump remover.) Our first test is with a very tiny rocket and then we will scale up later on. Eventually I hope to be able to make rockets with parachute recovery and also multistage rockets.

I do not yet have all my supplies though, and that is going to stymie my efforts to get an initial rocket off the ground. What I am still lacking are a coffee grinder (to finely grind the kitty litter,) bamboo skewers for the stick, and most importantly green safety fuse. I am using homemade fuse for this, which I tested previously but not under launch conditions. This safety fuse is basically a paper tube with white mix (the propellant mix) in it.

There is a high probability that none of my initial rockets will work properly, and that goes double for this launch. I hope at least that the rockets explode satisfactorily if they don't launch.

Now, we are doing science-ish stuff here and nobody should expect quick results. I will be satisfied if my first rocket blows up.
