Hornby R2948 | Class 43 | East Midlands Trains | HST Pack | OO Gauge | Review | HD
This is a remake of the review of the Hornby Class 43 HST Pack in the striking and colourful East Midlands Trains livery that I received for my birthday in 2011 as the original video was made before I upgraded to HD video recording short after that one was made. So I hope this new HD video will show off all the detail and features on this pack better this time around. In the pack, the power cars are 43055 (the powered unit) and 43048 (non-powered) that is named as "T.C.B Miller" and this power car has printed nameplates although I do hope to get some metal ones to place over the top to enhance the model. The pack is DCC ready and you would requite two decoders as the second one for be for full control of the lights on the non-powered unit. Both models have working cab lights and opening doors as demonstrated in this video which is what I like about this model train pack. I shall be fitting sound into this model once someone releases authentic VP185 sounds for this version of the HST. I have added a driver into the motored unit to make the model more realistic when running and also I have used all the matching carriages set in a prototypical formation as shown on the Midland Mainline. I have nothing but praise for this pack as it performs really well on my 12 volt Gaugemaster Model D train controller that was used for the test drive of this model in the video. I would recommend getting this set if you are interested in this iconic high speed train!
