Arcade FPS games are a genre of gaming that I really love. It mostly now consists of retro titles and that also is the case for today's example. House of the Dead 3 was released for the original Xbox and I managed to get my hands on it during a retro games convention. Luckily it is backwards compatible with my Xbox 360 and so I booted this baby up to see if it was as good as I remembered.
And it definitely did not dissapoint. I am a huge Time Crisis fan, but House of the Dead are also always great and the action is visceral with plenty of secrets to discover and different paths to take. It never feels frustrating or unfair and visually it still holds up. House of the Dead 2 is actually also on the disc, so maybe I will archive that in the near future as well.
