Living with a family member (or parent) with sociopathic, narcissistic, histrionic, or borderline traits can be difficult if they are unregulated and unstable. Sometimes having a simple conversation can lead to arguments, physical altercations, and even family estrangement.
The only way to deal with these family members (or parents) is by finding healthy ways to detach, regulate yourself, and save your sanity.
There are many ways to do this but one popular method -- known as the Grey Rock Method (often discussed by criminal attorneys, forensic psychologists, and Dr. Ramani) -- can be useful if used the correct way and in the correct circumstance.
In this video, I provide the basics of the technique and highlight some common issues with the grey rock method.
