Having good and healthy parents is a blessing. Even if you only have one healthy parent, that is still good.
However, not everyone has this blessing which can lead to years of difficulties and unresolved trauma. Difficult parents are destabilizing for a lot of reasons. These parents may engage in a series of repeat behaviors that are abusive, condescending, neglectful, harmful, traumatizing, and disrupting to your life.
In this video, I discuss parents with borderline personality disorder (i.e., specifically mothers) and narcissistic personality disorder (i.e., fathers).
