How good is Medal of Honor VR on Quest 2 for SINGLE PLAYER? // Oculus Quest 2 Gameplay
0The MEDAL OF HONOR Above and Beyond Quest 2 release has primarily been shown as a mulitplayer title (and when you play with a good group it's one of the best Quest 2 multiplayer shooter games available right now) but what about for solo players? What is there to do in Medal of Honor VR on the Oculus Quest 2 if you don't want to play online... well quite a bit actually but it's VERY simplistic. The Medal of Honor Oculus Quest 2 campaign content is exactly the same as the PC VR version, 6 missions broken down into smaller sub-missions for around 5 or 6hrs of single player content that never really feels like it's pushing the limits of what VR can really do. In many ways the campaign feels extremely faithful to the PS2 era Medal of Honor titles, a run and gun world war title with very little in the way of variety or experimentation. However that doesn't mean it isn't fun, the solid gun mechanics carry MOH VRs single player content and some fun stand out levels really do feel like a classic era of FPS titles even if the experience is fairly shallow when compared to other VR shooters.
Ultimately Medal of Honor Above and Beyond shines on the Oculus Quest 2 when you're playing with a team of friends in the frantic multiplayer modes (video here for my impressions: https://youtu.be/m50p6zrOvFc) but solo players do have something fairly substantial to get stuck into as well, just be aware that this isn't an open ended, VR mechanic laden campaign like Boneworks or Half Life Alyx, this is a simple nostalgic callback to a by gone era of FPS pushed into a VR mold.
