How Mana Generation Works in Teamfight Tactics TFT Guide Tips Tricks
131In Teamfight Tactics, there has been some mystery as to how mana for units is generated during the game. Luckily, we got some clarification from a QA team member giving us some insight. You can find that post here: https://twitter.com/RiotAfic/status/1148690209833230336
Mana Generation in TFT works like this. Auto Attacks and Taking Damage in Teamfight Tactics causes units to generate Mana. Auto Attacks have a max mana gain of 10 except for TFT Sorcerers and TFT Elementalists which get 2x the mana generated on hit (increasing their cap to 20).
When receiving damage in Teamfight Tactics, mana is generated based on the unmitigated damage total. This means that damage reduction and shields will not effect the mana gained. That said, attackers still gain mana upon missing a target, but if a hit is completely dodged and therefore has no damage to calculate the defender will NOT receive any mana generation.
