How to Add Bluetooth Keyboard on Chromecast (Google TV)
Steps to Add a Bluetooth Keyboard to Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer
Ensure Keyboard Compatibility:
Most Bluetooth keyboards (e.g., Logitech, Anker, or generic models) are compatible with Chromecast with Google TV. Keyboards with USB receivers (e.g., Logitech Unifying Receiver) may work if you have a USB-C hub with a USB-A port (for Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer).
Check if your keyboard requires a specific Bluetooth version (e.g., 4.0 or 5.0). Chromecast with Google TV supports Bluetooth 4.2 or higher.
Put Keyboard in Pairing Mode:
Turn on your Bluetooth keyboard.
Activate pairing mode (usually by pressing a dedicated “Connect” or “Pair” button, or holding the Bluetooth key for 5–10 seconds). Check the keyboard’s manual for instructions. A blinking LED typically indicates pairing mode.
Access Chromecast Settings:
From the Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer home screen, click your profile photo (top right) or press the Select button on the remote’s D-Pad to open the notifications panel.
Select Settings (gear icon) - Remotes & Accessories - Pair remote or accessory.
Pair the Keyboard:
Chromecast will scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. When your keyboard’s name appears (e.g., “Logitech K400”), select it using the remote.
If prompted, enter a PIN on the keyboard (e.g., “0000” or “1234”) and press Enter. Some keyboards pair automatically without a PIN.
Wait for a confirmation message on-screen (e.g., “Connected”) or check if the keyboard’s LED stops blinking.
