How to Add Google DNS to PS5 Network Settings (Best Method)
3Changing your DNS settings on a PlayStation 5 can sometimes help improve network performance, reduce latency, and resolve connectivity issues. Using a public DNS like Google's is a popular choice for gamers.
Here is the best method to add Google DNS to your PS5 network settings:
From the PS5 home screen, navigate to Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner).
Select Network.
In the left-hand menu, choose Settings, then Set Up Internet Connection.
Find your current network connection (either Wi-Fi or LAN Cable) and press the Options button on your controller.
From the menu that appears, select Advanced Settings.
Scroll down to DNS Settings and change the option from "Automatic" to Manual.
Two new fields will appear: Primary DNS and Secondary DNS.
Enter the following Google DNS addresses:
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
Select OK to save the settings.
The PS5 will now perform a connection test to confirm the new settings.
After the test is complete, you will be using Google's DNS servers for all of your PS5's internet traffic. If you experience any issues, you can always go back to the same menu and change the DNS settings back to "Automatic."
