When your PS5 says the system software is up to date, but you suspect it is not or you're experiencing issues, you can force a system software update through Safe Mode or by using a USB drive. 🛠 ️

Method 1: Update via Safe Mode (Internet)
This method is useful for refreshing the update process and can sometimes resolve issues where the console isn't detecting a new update.

Turn off your PS5 completely. Do not use Rest Mode.

Enter Safe Mode. Press and hold the power button on the console until you hear a second beep (about seven seconds).

Connect your controller with a USB cable and press the PS button.

From the Safe Mode menu, select "Update System Software."

Choose the option "Update Using Internet." The PS5 will check for, download, and install the latest update.
