For streamers on PS5, the chat overlay is a crucial feature that lets you see and interact with your viewers in real-time. The best method for managing the chat overlay and its location is through the dedicated Broadcast settings menu.

How to Turn ON or OFF the Chat Overlay
Go to Settings: From the PS5 home screen, navigate to the Settings icon (the gear).

Select "Captures and Broadcasts": Scroll down the settings menu and select this option.

Go to "Broadcasts": From the new menu, select Broadcasts.

Select "Overlays": Within the Broadcast settings, you will find a section for Overlays. Select it.

Toggle Chat Overlay: You'll see an option to "Display Chat." Toggle this on or off using the X button. When it is on, a chat window will appear on your screen during your live streams.
