One of my favorite things about Journey Map is that it not only adds a minimap to Minecraft 1.20.6, but it also allows you to add waypoints to Minecraft and even a fullscreen map that allows you to view your Minecraft world from a top down view. Truthfully, JourneyMap 1.20.6 is the best Minecraft map mod, so let’s jump into it!
First things first, we will need to go over how to download Journey Map 1.20.6. There is a link in the description above that will take you to our text guide on getting JourneyMap. Once you are there, click the “Download JourneyMap” button to go to the official Journey Map download page on CurseForge.
On the Journey Map download page, click “Files” and find the 1.20.6 Forge version of JourneyMap. Click the three dots next to it, and select “Download File”. Journey Map will then start downloading. You may need to keep or save it depending on your browser.
After you have JourneyMap downloaded, you will need to download and install Forge 1.20.6. Forge is the mod loader that allows you to install JourneyMap into Minecraft. In the description above, there is a link to our complete, in-depth guide on how to get Forge setup and running for Journey Map 1.20.6 including how to fix any potential issues you may have along the way.
Once you have Forge, we can move on to how to install JourneyMap in Minecraft 1.20.6. Luckily, this is super easy. Start off by opening up Minecraft using your Forge 1.20.6 installation.
Then, from the Minecraft main menu, select “Mods”. Finally, click the “Mods Folder” button in the bottom left of your Minecraft mods menu. To install Journey Map 1.20.6, drag-and-drop it into this “mods” folder. It’s that easy to install JourneyMap 1.20.6.
You aren’t completely done yet though. You will need to close Minecraft and restart it making sure to play with your Forge Installation. Once you are in-game, you can open up JourneyMap with the “J” button on your keyboard.
By default, the minimap will be on your screen. You can set way points by double-clicking on the full screen map or going to the waypoints menu using the button at the bottom of the full screen map.
JourneyMap also has tons of different options for customizing it. The settings for JourneyMap can also be found in a button at the bottom of the map. There you can change settings with minimaps, waypoints, the fullscreen map, and more.
