About this video: This video is a quick guide on how to make a modded Minecraft server. We specifically show you how to make a Forge server and install Forge mods on it in order to play modded Minecraft with your friends.

To get started, you will need to download Forge. There is a link to download Forge in the description of this video as well as in the attached long-form video. When downloading Forge, make sure to select the Minecraft version you want it for, and download the Installer. Click the “Skip Ad” button to start the download.

Next, create a folder on your desktop called “Modded Minecraft Server”. Then, open the Forge installer and select “Install Server”. Click the three dots in the red box that appears and navigate to the Modded Minecraft Server folder you made and select it.

Finally, click “Okay” and the Forge server files will download.

Open your Modded Minecraft Server folder and double-click the run.bat. The server will try to start and fail. You will now have an eula.txt file. Open this and change “eula=false” to “eula=true” and save the file.

Double-click the run.bat file again, and your Forge server will start! To add mods to the server, just add them the “mods” folder inside the server’s main folder/directory. You and everyone who joins the server will also need to be playing Minecraft with Forge and have all mods the mods on the server installed locally in your local mods folder to join.

From here, just port forward the port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols and your friends can join your server using your public IP address.

And that is how to make a modded Minecraft server as fast as possible. If you have any questions about how to create a Forge Minecraft server, let us know in the comments and check out the long form video on starting a modded Minecraft server.
