How To Change Content And Keep Subscribers Happy - Congruency - Winning On YouTube
23Are you afraid to change your content because you think it may alienate your subscriber and viewer base? It's okay to add or take away content from your channel if you do it the right way.
If you want to add a new type of content to your channel, you need to make sure it fits with the theme of your current work. Think about Ford Motor Company. They sell all types of vehicles, Mustangs; F-150 Trucks and Focus Sedans. But, all of these products are vehicles. You need to treat your YouTube content the same way. Just as Ford Motor Company will probably never start selling mobile phones or PCs, you need to make sure that any new content you add to your channel fits the theme your audience subscribed to see.
The goal is to create themed content that will keep you from losing subscribers.
There are exceptions to this rule. If you communicated it well, you could take your channel in a completely different direction. However, the principles of following a specific focus and theme will still apply to your new direction.
Also, if your YouTube subscriber base is still relatively small (say less than 10,000 subscribers), you have some room to experiment to see what sticks and what does not.
To the best of your ability, work to focus your content. And if you make a change, make sure the new content fits with your existing theme and is focused as well.
