How to Change iPhone Video Format to Most Compatible (HEIF/HEVC to JPeg & H.264)
To change your iPhone's video format from HEIF/HEVC to JPEG and H.264, follow these steps:
Changing Photo Format to JPEG
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Scroll down and tap Camera.
Select Formats.
Choose Most Compatible. This will save photos in JPEG format.
Changing Video Format to H.264
The video format setting is typically linked to the photo format, but you can ensure your videos are saved in H.264 format by following these steps:
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Scroll down and tap Camera.
Tap Record Video.
Select a resolution and frame rate option that uses H.264. The available options may differ based on your iPhone model.
Important Notes
When you switch to Most Compatible, photos and videos will take up more storage space since JPEG and H.264 formats are less efficient than HEIF and HEVC.
If you want to convert existing videos, you might need to use third-party apps or transfer them to a computer for conversion.
