How to Change Live Stream Bitrate & Youtube Recommendations using OBS on PC (Easy Tutorial)
When streaming with OBS Studio, adjusting your settings for optimal quality is crucial. Let’s cover the key steps:
Video Bitrate:
Set your video bitrate to 4000 Kbps for pixel-perfect live streaming in Full HD (1080p) at 30fps.
If you’re streaming in 4K (2160p), consider a higher bitrate based on your network connection.
Resolution and Frame Rate:
YouTube automatically detects your resolution and frame rate. However, you can manually select a resolution if needed.
Recommended bitrate ranges for different resolutions:
1080p @ 60fps: 10 Mbps (minimum) to 12 Mbps (recommended)
1080p @ 30fps: 3 Mbps (minimum) to 10 Mbps (recommended)
720p @ 60fps: 3 Mbps (minimum) to 6 Mbps (recommended)2.
Encoder Settings:
Use H.264 as the video codec.
Set the keyframe frequency to 2 seconds (recommended).
Adjust other settings like audio codec, sample rate, and color space as needed.
Remember to test your setup before going live! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
