How to Change Screen Scaling & Size of Screen on Windows 11 or 10 PC
You can change the screen scaling and size of text, apps, and other items on Windows 11 or 10 using these methods:
Method 1: Change Scaling via Display Settings
Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
Scroll down to Scale & layout.
Under "Scale", select a percentage (100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, etc.).
If text or apps appear too small, increase the percentage.
If things look too big, decrease it.
Windows will adjust the scaling immediately, but some changes may require a sign-out/restart.
Method 2: Set a Custom Scaling Percentage
Go to Display settings as mentioned above.
Click Advanced scaling settings.
Under Custom scaling, enter a value (e.g., 110% or 135%).
Click Apply, then sign out and sign back in.
Method 3: Change Screen Resolution (Affects Size of Display)
Open Settings (Win + I).
Go to System - Display.
Under Display resolution, choose a different resolution:
Higher resolution (e.g., 1920x1080) - Makes everything smaller.
Lower resolution (e.g., 1366x768) - Makes everything larger.
Click Apply, then choose Keep changes or Revert if it doesn’t look right.
Method 4: Adjust Display Scaling via Compatibility Settings (For Apps Only)
If a specific app looks blurry or has scaling issues:
Right-click the app icon and select Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab.
Click Change high DPI settings.
Enable Override high DPI scaling behavior and choose System (Enhanced).
Click OK and restart the app.
