How to Set Microphone as Default Device in Sound Settings on Windows 11 or 10
To set your microphone as the default device in Windows 11 or 10, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using Sound Settings
Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner).
Select Sound settings (Windows 11) or Open Sound settings (Windows 10).
Scroll down to Input and click the dropdown under Choose your input device.
Select your preferred microphone.
Close the settings—your microphone is now the default.
Method 2: Using the Control Panel
Press Win + R, type mmsys.cpl, and press Enter.
Go to the Recording tab.
Find your microphone, right-click it, and select Set as Default Device.
Click Apply, then OK.
