About this video: This video is a complete guide on how to see your TPS on a Minecraft server. We go over checking your TPS on every kind of Minecraft server from vanilla to modded to plugin based servers. This means that no matter what you will be able to see your server’s TPS and check if your Minecraft server has any kind of lag on it.

Before we show you how to see your FPS though, let’s talk about what TPS is on a Minecraft server. TPS stand for Ticks Per Second, and it is a great way to determine if your Minecraft server is lagging or having issues. A Minecraft server with perfect TPS will have 20 ticks per second. Anything under this, and lag could start to become noticeable.

Generally, if your server’s TPS is under 18, you will start to really notice lag and have issues playing on your server Minecraft. So how do you see TPS on your Minecraft server?

Well, it depends on the type of server you have. If you have a vanilla Minecraft server, you cannot check TPS easily. You will need a modded server, such as Forge for Fabric, or a plugin server, with Paper or Purpur. No matter what, you will need to be OP’d on your server to check TPS. This can be done by running the /op USERNAME command in your server’s console.

If you have a plugin based server, you can use the /tps command to see your server’s TPS averages. 20 TPS is perfect and anything under that means that some lag is occurring. However, you can use a plugin called Spark, which is linked in the description above.

When you add the Spark mod to your server, you can then use the /spark tps command. This will show you your server’s TPS as well as things like CPU usage and other information you need about your server.

You can use Spark on a plugin based server as well. Just add it to your server like any other plugin and run /spark tps.

With that, you now know how to check the TPS on your Minecraft server. If you have any questions about how to see the ticks per second on your Minecraft server, let us know in the comments. We will try our best to help you out.
