How to Connect Xbox Controller to iPhone or iPad (100% Works!)
To connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:
Ensure Compatibility: Your iPhone or iPad must be running iOS 13/iPadOS 13 or later. Verify this in Settings - General - About and update via Settings - General - Software Update if needed. Compatible controllers include Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth (Model 1708), Xbox Series S/X, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controller.
Turn On the Controller: Press the Xbox button (center, with the Xbox logo) to power it on. The button will light up.
Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Connect button (small button near the top, between the bumpers) for 3–5 seconds until the Xbox button flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
Enable Bluetooth on Your Device: Go to Settings - Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad and ensure Bluetooth is on. Alternatively, access Bluetooth via Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner, long-pressing the Bluetooth icon, and selecting Bluetooth Settings.
Pair the Controller: In Bluetooth settings, under “Other Devices,” find “Xbox Wireless Controller” or a similar name. Tap it to connect. A pop-up may ask to confirm pairing; select Pair. Once connected, the Xbox button will stop flashing and stay lit.
Test the Connection: Open a compatible game (e.g., Apple Arcade titles, Fortnite, or Call of Duty: Mobile) to ensure the controller works. Check game settings for controller support.
