How to Connect your Xbox to your Xbox Phone App (Setup a console)
2Connecting your Xbox console to the Xbox mobile app on your phone allows you to manage your console remotely, stream games, and access various features. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Download and Open the Xbox Mobile App:
Download the Xbox mobile app from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
If you’re a new app user, select “Set up a console” within the app.
If you’ve already signed in to the app, tap the Console icon in the upper right corner of the home screen and select “Set up a console.”
Enter the code displayed on the “Set up with the Xbox app” screen.
Allow the App to Connect to Your Console:
When you see a notification asking, “Xbox wants to join WiFi network [your network],” select “Join.”
Once your console connects, select “Next.”
If you encounter any issues during this step, refer to the troubleshooting section below.
Select Your Language and Location:
Choose your preferred language and location. If your language isn’t available, select one that you can read for the initial setup.
After the system update, additional languages may become available.
Connect Your Console to the Internet:
You can connect via a wired or wireless connection:
If you’ve attached a network cable during physical setup, you’ll proceed directly to the connected screen. Select “Next” to continue.
If the console doesn’t detect a wired connection, you’ll be prompted to select a network:
Use a wired connection if available. The Network Connection Troubleshooter will help diagnose any issues.
Choose from the list of wireless networks (strongest to weakest signal). Your home network should appear near the top.
After selecting your network, you’ll see the “It’s all good” screen. Select “Next” to continue.
Update Your System:
Once connected to the internet, download the most recent system update. This ensures your Xbox is up to date.
Review the update size and select “Update console” to begin the download
