How to Control with TV Remote Xbox Series X (HDMI-CEC Turn ON)
You can use your TV remote to control your Xbox Series X by enabling HDMI-CEC on both your TV and Xbox. HDMI-CEC is a relatively new technology that allows devices to communicate over HDMI for adjusting TV controls, interacting with apps, and so on. For Xbox, it allows you to control the entire dashboard, as well as use media controls in apps like YouTube and the Blu-ray player. Here are the basic steps to enable HDMI-CEC on your TV and Xbox:
Enable HDMI-CEC on your TV:
Press the home button on your TV remote, or the settings button if one is available.
Look for a setting that refers to HDMI-CEC or external device control.
Once you have enabled HDMI-CEC features on your TV, you should be able to enable remote control on your Xbox console.
Enable HDMI-CEC on your Xbox:
Open the Xbox menu using the Xbox button on your controller.
Navigate right until you find Settings.
Navigate down to Devices & connections.
Select Remote features.
If it’s not already enabled, select Enable remote features.
Once you have enabled HDMI-CEC on both your TV and Xbox, you should be able to control your Xbox using your TV remote
