How to Create & Join a Private Server in Roblox on Console (PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S)
Creating and joining a private server in Roblox on a console like PS4, PS5, or Xbox has some limitations compared to PC or mobile, but it’s still possible with a workaround. Here’s how to do it:
Creating a Private Server
You can’t directly create a private server from a console. Instead, you’ll need access to a PC or mobile device to set it up, then use your console to join. Here’s the process:
Use a PC or Mobile Device:
Open Roblox on a computer or phone and log in with the same account you use on your console.
Find the game you want a private server for. Not all games support this, so check first.
Go to the game’s page, scroll to the Servers section, and look for Create Private Server.
If the game allows it, click Create. Some servers are free, but many cost Robux—check the price set by the game’s creator.
Customize settings like who can join (friends only, specific players, or anyone with a link) via the Configure option after creation.
Prepare for Console Access:
Once the server is created, note the server address or generate a join link from the Configure menu.
If you want to join from your console, you’ll need a friend already in the server or use a second account (more on this below).
Joining a Private Server on Console
Consoles don’t support direct link entry or server creation, so you’ll rely on the Friends system or an alternate account:
Via a Friend:
Have a friend join the private server using a PC or mobile device with the link or server access.
On your console, open Roblox, go to the Friends tab, find your friend who’s online in the server, and select Join Experience. This works if the server allows friends to join.
Using a Second Account (Workaround):
Create a second Roblox account on a PC or mobile device.
Friend your main console account with this second account.
On the PC or mobile, log into the second account, create or join the private server, and stay in it.
On your console, log into your main account, go to Friends, find the second account, and select Join Experience.
This lets you access the server solo or with others you invite.
Check Settings:
Ensure the server’s access settings allow friends or specific users (like your console account) to join. Adjust this on the PC/mobile device under Configure.
