⚙️ How to Customize the Start Button in Windows 11 ⚙️
🔑 Want to personalize your Start Button on Windows 11 for easier navigation? Windows 11 offers various customization options for the Start Menu and Start Button to fit your preferences. Follow these steps to configure and change the Start Button settings.
Steps to Customize the Start Button in Windows 11:
1. Open Settings:
Click on the Start button (Windows icon) on your taskbar or press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
2. Go to Personalization:
In the Settings window, select Personalization from the sidebar.
3. Customize the Taskbar:
Click on Taskbar from the Personalization menu. Here you can configure several options related to the Start Button.
4. Adjust Taskbar Alignment (Optional):
Under Taskbar behaviors, you can adjust the alignment of the Start Button. By default, it is centered on the taskbar, but you can choose to align it to the left if you prefer the classic look.
To change the alignment, select Left from the Taskbar alignment dropdown menu.
5. Modify Start Menu Settings:
Go back to the Personalization section in Settings, and select Start to customize the appearance and options of the Start Menu itself.
Show recently added apps: Toggle this option to show recently installed apps.
Show most used apps: Turn this on to display apps you use the most.
Show recently opened items: You can choose whether to display recently opened files in the Start Menu or not.
6. Pin/Unpin Apps to Start Menu:
To add apps to the Start Menu, open the Start Menu, right-click on any app you want to pin, and select Pin to Start.
To remove an app, right-click on it in the Start Menu and select Unpin from Start.
7. Resize the Start Menu (Optional):
To resize the Start Menu, simply hover over the top or right edge of the Start Menu and drag it to your desired size.
8. Change Start Button Icon (Advanced - Registry Edit):
While Windows 11 doesn't natively allow changing the Start Button icon, you can do this by modifying system files or using third-party software. If you're not familiar with registry edits or system changes, it's best to avoid this step.
Tips:
Taskbar Size: If you prefer more space, you can also resize the taskbar by adjusting the Taskbar size in Settings.
Keyboard Shortcut: Use Windows + S to quickly search for apps and files, which can complement your Start Menu customization.
