Apple's FaceTime feature for its MacOS and iOS devices is a great way for people to stay in touch with video. However, if the quality is bad or you have a tendency to take FaceTime calls over a cellular data connection that can eat up your data plan, you may want to just turn FaceTime off. If you turn off FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad, you won't receive FaceTime calls on that device, but you'll still be able to receive FaceTime calls on other Apple devices where FaceTime is enabled.
Now let's walk through the steps to disable FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 1. Tap to launch the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad. The Settings screen appears.
Step 2. Scroll down the list until you see FaceTime. The FaceTime icon is green and features a silhouette of a video camera. Tap "Facetime." The FaceTime screen appears.
Step 3. Tap the toggle to the right of FaceTime at the top of the screen to turn it off. All of the options beneath FaceTime will disappear after the feature is disabled. You've successfully disabled FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad. You can always come back to this section at any time and use the toggle to turn FaceTime back on.
