About this video: This video is our complete guide on how to download and install Forge for Minecraft 1.20. Why would you want to get 1.20 Forge? Well, with Forge, you will be able to get all kinds of amazing mods for Minecraft 1.20. Forge is the most popular mod loader out there, and with that, it has some truly incredible mods that do everything from make Minecraft easier to play to add entire new worlds, biomes, tools, and more!
To get started, we need to go over how to download Forge 1.20. You can find a link in the description above that will take you to our complete text guide on how to get Forge for Minecraft 1.20. That guide even covers how to fix all of the most common issues that you may have with 1.20 Forge.
Once you are there though, click the “Download Forge” button to go to Forge’s official download page. On this page, select 1.20 from the left-hand sidebar. This will open the download for 1.20. On this page, find “Download Latest” and click the “Installer” button.
When you do this, it will take AdFocus. On this page, wait about 10 seconds. Then, click the red “Skip Ad” button in the top right. When you click this, Forge 1.20 will start download. You may have to keep or save Forge depending on your browser.
With it downloaded, we can move on to how to install Forge 1.20 in Minecraft. To this, you may need to get Java 17. You can find a link to our guide on getting Java 17 in the description above.
To install Forge, right-click on the file you downloaded, and select “Open With”. Then, click on “Java”. From there, the Forge Mod System installer for Minecraft 1.20 will open.
In the Forge 1.20 installer, click on “Install Clients”, and click “Okay”. Forge 1.20 will install.
Now, in order to play Minecraft with Forge, you will need to open up the Minecraft Launcher, click the arrow next to the “Play” button, select Forge, and click Play. You will then need to confirm you are playing modded Minecraft by clicking Play again. Minecraft 1.20 will now open with Forge installed!
However, you are probably wondering how to add mods to Forge 1.20. Well, to do this, you will need to make sure the mods you download are for 1.20 and Forge compatible. From there, go to the main menu of Minecraft with Forge and click on the “Mods” button. Click the “Mods Folder” button in the bottom right of the mods menu to open your mods folder. Now, drag-and-drop the Minecraft 1.20 mods you want to install into this mods folder.
You will need to restart Minecraft once your Forge mods are installed in order for them to work correctly. When you do, Minecraft 1.20 mods will be installed and working!
