They can completely change the look at a game, making it look, cartoony, making it look realistic, or even making it look medieval. but how do you actually add texture packs in Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1? Well, luckily, you have stumbled on our in-depth guide on how to download and install texture packs for Minecraft 1.20.1 on PC.
First off though, I do want mention that in Minecraft 1.20.1 texture packs and resource packs are the exact same thing.
The first step of getting 1.20.1 texture packs is downloading them. You can find a complete list of Minecraft 1.20.1 resource packs in the description above. There, you will find 15+ resource packs that are all 1.20.1 compatible. There is everything from realistic resource packs to medieval texture packs to cartoon style texture packs.
When you have found the Minecraft Java texture pack you want to downloaded, click the Download button under it and go through the download process. It is also worth noting that in most cases older texture packs will work in Minecraft 1.20.1, so don’t be afraid to give those a try.
We will be install DokuCraft and Bare Bones in this video, but any 1.20.1 texture pack you download will be installed in the same way.
Once the texture packs are downloaded, we can move on to how to install texture packs in Minecraft 1.20.1 on PC. This is actually very easy. Just open up Minecraft 1.20.1. Then, from the Minecraft main menu select “Options”, “Resource Packs”. This will open the Resource Packs menu.
In the resource packs menu, click the “Open Pack Folder” button in the bottom left of Minecraft. This will open the resourcepack folder. Drag-and-drop the 1.20.1 texture packs you want to install into this folder.
Now, go back to Minecraft 1.20.1. You will see all of the texture packs you installed in the “Available” section on the left-hand side. Hover over this and click the arrow that appears over the resource pack’s image. This will move the texture pack to the “Selected” section. Click done, and your Minecraft 1.20.1 texture pack will activate!
You can move multiple texture packs to the selected section. The one highest up on the list takes priority. Any textures that pack doesn’t have will then be taken in over by the next pack on the list and so on. This can be great for armor or tool packs.
