π Want to silence notifications while working or during meetings on your Windows 11 device? You can enable Do Not Disturb mode to avoid interruptions. Hereβs how to manage it:
Steps to Enable/Disable Do Not Disturb Mode on Windows 11:
1. Open Focus Assist Settings:
Open Quick Settings
Click on the notification icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen), or press Windows + A to open the Quick Settings menu.
Access Focus Assist
In the Quick Settings menu, click on the Focus Assist button. If it's not visible, click on the pencil icon to edit your Quick Settings, and then drag Focus Assist into the menu.
2. Enable Do Not Disturb:
Turn on Focus Assist
You will see options for Focus Assist:
Off: Notifications will be shown as usual.
Priority Only: Only notifications from selected contacts or apps will be shown.
Alarms Only: Only alarms will interrupt you. All other notifications are silenced.
To activate Do Not Disturb (which is essentially Alarms Only mode), select Alarms Only.
3. Customize Focus Assist:
Adjust Priority List
If you choose Priority Only, you can customize which notifications you want to receive. To do this:
Go to Settings β System β Focus Assist.
Under the Priority only section, click Customize your priority list to add contacts or apps whose notifications will still come through.
4. Turn Off Do Not Disturb:
Disable Focus Assist
If you want to return to receiving all notifications, simply turn off Focus Assist by selecting Off in the Quick Settings or in the Settings app.
5. Automatic Activation of Do Not Disturb:
Automatic Focus Assist Settings
You can also set Focus Assist to activate automatically during specific times or when duplicating your screen for presentations. To do this:
Go to Settings β System β Focus Assist.
Under Automatic Rules, you can configure options like enabling Focus Assist during certain hours, when playing a game, or when projecting to a second screen.
Tips:
Turn On During Meetings: Enable Alarms Only during meetings or focused work sessions to avoid distractions.
Notifications for Priority Contacts: Set up Priority Only to ensure you only get the most important notifications.
Use Quiet Hours: Customize Focus Assist to automatically turn on during specific hours, such as when you're asleep or in a meeting.
