How to Establish a SnapMirror Relationship in Data OnTap CLI by Nicholas Lee Fagan

The snapmirror.conf file is located in the /etc/ folder, and in this video I show you how to create one. The snapmirror.conf file is used to establish a relationship between the source, and destination. You need to establish the relationship before you can use SnapMirror to copy data. In this demonstration I establish a relationship between two filers. The source filer with the hostname FilerA, and the destination FilerB. So I specify the source filer & path as well as the destination filer & path in the snapmirror.conf file.
SnapMirror is used to replicate data. In the relationship I established I specified semi-sync which means that every 10 seconds the destination will backup any data that has changed on the source. So the backup data will never be more than 10 seconds old. I believe this is the default setting, and can be changed. Semi-sync gives you better performance than the sync mode. . .
