In this video I demonstrate how to restore a single file using snap restore in the Data OnTap command line interface. It's quite a handy feature If you just need to restore a single file to the state it was in when one of your snapshot copies was taken. In the video I create a file called somedata.txt on vol1. Then I take a snapshot copy, and afterwards I overwrite the data in the somedata.txt file. I read the file to show you the data has been overwritten, then read the file again after the restore to show you that it has been restored back to it's original state. . .
