This video will show you how to get the Google Voice Typing functionality to work on Android, especially if you cannot find the speech to text microphone icon button, even when long pressing all keys on your virtual keyboard looking for said mic icon button. In the Language & Keyboard option in Settings, under Keyboard & Input Methods, select (check) Google Voice Typing. Also, in Settings, in Apps, tap on the ALL tab, and while scrolling down while looking for any apps that have been DISABLED, try enabling Voice Search and Google Search apps, followed by once again checking the Google Voice Typing option in the Language & Keyboard option in Settings, under Keyboard & Input Methods. If still no luck, if Google Voice Typing and/or Google Search and/or Google Voice Search apps are available in your Google Play Android Market, download and install these apps (ensure that these apps are the apps RELEASED by Google and not third-party apps). If Google Voice Typing is installed and activated, under the Google Keyboard settings, under Preferences, check the Voice Input Key, and if not available (faded out, greyed out) on your standard Google Keyboard, try long-pressing the space bar: you might find that Google Voice Typing is an option in the pop-up Select Input Method window.
