How to Fix Video Clip Not Showing on PlayStation App using PS5 Upload (Best Method)
Experiencing video clips not showing up on your PlayStation App is a common frustration, but it's usually due to a few specific settings or requirements. The "best method" to fix this is to go through a checklist of the most common issues.
The Best Method: A Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Checklist
Go through these steps in order. Many issues can be resolved in the first few steps.
Step 1: Check the Video Clip Requirements
The most frequent reason a video doesn't upload is that it doesn't meet the app's strict requirements.
Video Length: The clip must be 3 minutes or less in duration. If your video is longer, it will not upload automatically. You can trim it on the PS5 using the Media Gallery's editing features.
Video Resolution: The clip must be 1920x1080 (1080p) or lower. If you have your PS5 recording at 4K, these clips will not be automatically uploaded. You can manually adjust this setting on your PS5:
Go to Settings Captures and Broadcasts Captures.
Change the Video Clip Format or Manual Recording Resolution to 1080p.
Capture Type: Only manual captures (clips you record by pressing the Create button) are eligible for auto-upload. Auto-captures like those for Trophy Moments or Activity Challenges will not be uploaded.
Step 2: Ensure Auto-Upload is Correctly Enabled
If your video meets the requirements, the next step is to ensure the auto-upload feature is enabled and the console has a network connection.
Check Auto-Upload:
On your PS5, go to Settings Captures and Broadcasts Captures.
Make sure Auto-Upload is turned on.
Enable Rest Mode Internet:
For uploads to happen while you're not actively gaming, your PS5 needs to stay connected to the internet in rest mode.
Go to Settings System Power Saving Features Available in Rest Mode.
Ensure "Stay Connected to the Internet" is enabled.
Step 3: Enable "Console Sharing and Offline Play"
This setting has been reported by many users as a fix for syncing issues. While it's primarily for sharing games and PS Plus, enabling it can help your PS5 properly identify itself as the primary console for uploads.
On your PS5, go to Settings Users and Accounts.
Go to Other Console Sharing and Offline Play.
Select "Enable."
Step 4: Manually Upload the Clip
If auto-upload still isn't working, try a manual upload to see if that works.
Go to the Media Gallery on your PS5.
Highlight the clip you want to upload.
Press the Options button on your controller.
Select "Upload to PlayStation App."
If this works, it confirms that the app is syncing with your console and the issue is with the auto-upload setting itself.
