How to add a friend on PS5 Account (Best Method)

Step 1: Access the Game Base
From the PS5 home screen, press the PS button on your DualSense controller. This will bring up the Control Center at the bottom of your screen.
Navigate to the Game Base card. It has an icon of two people and is typically located to the left of your profile picture.
Select the Game Base card to open the menu.
Step 2: Search for a Player
Within the Game Base menu, you will see a few tabs. Select the Friends tab.
At the top of the Friends tab, you will see an icon that looks like a magnifying glass with a person next to it. This is the "Search for players" option. Select it.
A search bar will appear. Enter your friend's Online ID (their PlayStation Network username) or their real name if you have that information.
