About this video: In this video, we go over everything that you want to know about getting sponsored on YouTube or Twitch. If you are looking to get free stuff from companies in order to do reviews on YouTube, this video will show you how to find companies that will work with you, how to reach out to those companies, and how to build relationships that will last for years and years to come.
First and foremost though, you will want to grow your YouTube channel or Twitch channel as much as possible. On YouTube, you will need at least 1,000 subscribers and 500 views per new upload to start getting any interest from sponsors. On Twitch, you'll need to average over 50 concurrent viewers before most companies will look to sponsor your streams. After you meet these numbers, it's time to find some companies to work with.
There are tons of different gaming companies that are looking to work with content creators. From huge companies like Razor, Dell, and Epic Games to smaller custom controller companies, phone case companies, and even indie game companies. You have tons of different options when it comes to finding the perfect gaming sponsorship company.
You can also use a sponsorship service like Famebit for getting gaming sponsorships. This is a great option as it allows you to find companies that are actively looking to work with YouTubers. The downside is Famebit requires a lot more views and subscribers than some smaller companies require if you reach out to them directly with an idea.
That actually moves us on to the next step of getting a gaming sponsorship - reaching out to companies. At this point you should have a list of companies. I would start out with about 10 small to medium size companies in the gaming space. Now, you need to contact them. I would suggest not using the same email over and over again. Instead write specific emails to each company with unique ideas for content. Make sure to let them know how it will benefit thme before you ask for anything.
If possible, contact the marketing department of the company you are looking to work with. If you can't find the email for the marketing department, contact the general contact form/email, and they will make sure your email gets to the right person. At this point, all you can do is wait. After around 10 days, follow-up with the company again. Then, follow-up again 7 days after that. All of these emails should be unique and specfic. Once you get a response one way or the other, stop reaching out to the company.
However, you will still want to notify companies when big things happen to stay on their radar. For example, if you hit 10,000 or 100,000 subscribers, let the companies you want to work with know. That may have just been what they were looking for at that time.
You should now have a company willing to sponsor your channel. If not, no worries. Try, try again, and keep reaching out to more companies. Eventually you will find a company that is very excited to work with you. After you do have a company willing to sponser your Twitch or gaming channel, make the best content you can for them. This will give them a great return on the sponsorship, and keep them working with you over and over again.
