One of it’s primary features though is the ability to play Minecraft with your friends by inviting them to a singleplayer Minecraft world. That is in addition to the cosmetic, screenshot features, account switching, and more that the Essential Mod adds to the game. Overall, it is an amazing mod, so without anymore delay, here is how to download and install the Essential Mod for Minecraft 1.20.4.
First things first though, we will need to download and install the Fabric Mod Loader. Essential 1.20.4 is a Fabric mod, so we will need the Fabric mod loader in order for it to work. That covers everything, and it even goes over how to fix potential issues you may run into when getting Fabric for the Essential Mod.
After you have the Essential Mod downloaded, we can move on to how to install the Essential Mod in Minecraft 1.20.4. To start off open up the Minecraft Launcher. Then, in the Minecraft Launcher, you will want to click on the “Installations” tab at the top. Here, you will see Fabric installation. Just hover over this and click the folder icon that appears.
This will open your .minecraft folder. In this folder, you will have a mods folder. If not, just create a new folder called “mods”. Open your mods folder and move the Essential Mod install this mods folder. It’s that easy to install Essential in Minecraft 1.20.4.
In order to use the Essential Mod in 1.20.4, you will need to play Minecraft with Fabric everytime you want use the Essential Mod. This is because Essential is a Fabric mod and needs Fabric in order to work.
Once you are in-game, you can join a singleplayer world and invite your friends from the pause menu. Your friend will need the Essential Mod installed as well in order to be able to join. You can add your friend to your friendslist in the Essential mod for 1.20.4 as well. This makes it easier to invite them to your world.
There are some limitations of playing Minecraft 1.20.4 with your friends using the Essential Mod. It is more difficult to play with other mods outside of Essential while playing with your friends. Your friend can also only play in the world while you are actively hosting it. Lastly, you will need a decent PC in order to play with your friend using Essential 1.20.4 because you are hosting the world meaning it will be more resource intensive than just playing Minecraft singleplayer without someone else in your world.
